OCB Welcomes New Members
(By Audition)
An audition is required to become a OCB full time OR substitute member and is dependent on current openings.
- Full-time members are expected to attend rehearsals regularly and communicate information on any absences in advance.
- Substitute members are called when needed for rehearsals and/or concerts.
The OCB audition process consists of three phases: 1) completing the on-line interest form, 2) submitting a recorded screening audition, and 3) an in-person audition consisting of participation in one (1) to four (4) rehearsals. After you submit your interest form, you will receive an email to inform you if you will be auditioning for a substitute or full-time membership position, and the requirements for the recorded audition. You will also receive instructions on how to record and submit your screening audition.
If your screening audition recording is accepted, you will then receive a phone call from the Membership Director and be invited to the second phase of auditions: attending one (1) to four (4) rehearsals. You will have “auditionee” status until completion of this period. You will be notified if you have been accepted for full-time or substitute membership within four (4) weeks of completing the in-person audition process.
*Note: percussionists will have an in-person audition only. Please email membership@orlandoconcertband.org if you have any questions.
Rehearsals:
We rehearse in Orlando every Thursday evening year-round, from 7:30 PM – 9:30 PM, with a short break in the summer.
