About OCB

Who are we, and what do we do?

The Orlando Concert Band is a 50-member wind ensemble, organized and operated as a not-for-profit Florida corporation.  Founded in 1989, the band has performed regularly in Central Florida for the past eighteen years.  The mission of the band is to celebrate and preserve America’s musical heritage through professional-level performance of musical literature for concert band.  Our venues include the City of Orlando’s Fireworks at the Fountain Independence Day celebration, the Winter Park Sidewalk Arts Festival, the St. Luke’s Lutheran Church concert series, and The Cathedral Church of St. Luke in downtown Orlando.

What kind of music can we offer?

For festivals, holidays, and events requiring a lighter program, the band plays a variety of the traditional, popular, and patriotic music you would expect to hear on weekends at a small-town bandstand in rural America.  Programs can be structured to include vocal and instrumental soloists accompanied by the band.  If a more formal program is desired, the band can perform symphonic and orchestral pieces, theme music, and jazz from its large and comprehensive repertoire.  Our programming experts will work with you to select music to complement any event or occasion.  A typical performance includes 60 to 90 minutes of music.  We will provide sample programs and demonstration CDs upon request.

What are the benefits of live musical performance?

Your target audience will benefit from the entertainment and educational value of a professional, live musical performance.  Our performances are exciting, wholesome, and family-friendly.  These qualities focus positive attention on any event in which we participate.
